Transformers: The Movie

According to Mark Kermode, a "nippy, 85 minutes long" and "very good" animated film from 1986, which was Orson Welles' last movie. After the release of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, Mark was asked by a number of listeners if he had seen the original film, and he replied “of course, it’s infinitely better.” Andrew Collins was equally retrospectively positive about it, describing it as "cheap-looking and loveable."

It is nothing to do with the later Michael Bay abominations - indeed, it was simply about robots hitting each other, and not about Michael Bay spending millions of dollars to go "Phwoarr, eh?"
