Låt Den Rätte Komma In
"It left me breathless" - Mark Kermode, BBC Radio 5 Live
Known in English as Let The Right One In, Tomas Alfredson's coming-of-age vampire drama is one of Mark Kermode's very favourite films of recent years. Having championed it through the year all through 2008 until its eventual release in May 2009, Mark was actually off on the week of release, and it was David Morrissey who ended up putting in a good word for it, saying it was his film of the year so far.
Although it is more usually referred to in its English title, the film's remaking into 2011's Let Me In triggered a lengthy rant about Hollywood remaking already magnificent films in American - and ruining them by doing so - so Witterpedia celebrates this by giving the film the full Swedish.
According to Mark, there was nearly a riot at the Sitges Film Festival when Jennifer Lynch's Surveillance won the main prize rather than this.
